Privacy
Plain-English statement of what this site collects, what it doesn't, and where data goes. Short on purpose.
What we do not collect
- We do not set any tracking cookies.
- We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party analytics or advertising script.
- We do not have a backend or a database. The whole site is static files served by Cloudflare.
What stays in your browser
On the Write to your MP and Write to your councillors pages, we ask for a postcode, a name and an address. These values live in the form fields in your browser, never leave your device, and are not transmitted to us or to any server we operate.
Your language preference (English or فارسی) is stored in your
browser's localStorage so the next page you load
opens in the same language. That value never leaves your
device.
Where lookups go
When you press Find my MP or Find my council, your postcode is sent to two third-party APIs:
- postcodes.io — a free public service that returns your constituency, council and region.
- UK Parliament Members API — to look up your MP's name, party and parliamentary email address.
Both calls are made directly from your browser. We do not proxy or log them. Their own privacy policies apply.
The email and the campaign tracker
When you press Open email to my MP or
Open email to my councillors, the site builds a
mailto: link and hands control to your email app.
The email is sent by you, from your own email
account. We have no server in that loop.
The pre-written email includes a hidden BCC to a campaign
tracking address
(60abf2d8c9e52a0ca3dd3221@track.campaigns.management).
This lets us count how many letters have been sent. The
tracker stores a copy of the email — including your name and
address as you signed it — so it can de-duplicate and produce
an aggregate count. If you would rather your letter not be
BCC'd, delete that BCC line from the email before pressing
send.
Photographs at Sunday gatherings
We never photograph anyone without consent. Many of our members have family inside Iran and prefer not to be identified. If you are at a Sunday gathering and would prefer not to be in any group photo, tell us and we will keep you out of frame — or stand at the back.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data on a server, there is nothing for us to delete or correct. If you have written to a representative through this site, your letter is in the recipient's inbox and in the campaign tracker's archive — to request removal from the tracker, email us at iranianpatriotsinuk@gmail.com and we will pass the request on.
